Melting

Eight melting furnaces offer production flexibility.

The melting facilities we have at our disposal are medium frequency induction furnaces. Good reliable melting furnaces are vital to a successful foundry operation. All the furnaces we have are modern and well maintained units.

Our Chesterfield site has 1 x 4000kgs, 1 x 3000kgs & 2 x 2000kgs nominal furnaces. This allows us to melt a total of approximately 11000kgs of molten steel if required or alternatively have multiple steel grades being processed at the same time.

The Sheffield site has 2 x 800kgs and 2 x 500kgs melting plants. This allows us to produce castings in excess of 1000kgs if required but generally multiple grades are produced during the working day.

We have complete metal production flexibility at both our manufacturing sites as a result of the numerous furnaces we have.
